New Year, same me!

Sorry for the short absence on here – I had a pretty busy end to 2016 and thought I’d give myself a few days off to get back on top of it. However, I’m back and ready to kick 2017 off with an exciting one: my 2017 challenges.

Towards the end of the year you always get the same question – what are your New Years Resolutions going to be? I find picking resolutions hard, so I usually opt for goals. My 2017 goals are at the end of this blog post but first I wanted to chat about my challenges. This year I’ve decided to do 12 monthly challenges – some are fitness related, but some are not. I’ve chosen them because I want to push myself, see what I’m capable of. For some of you the challenges I’ve set might not seem like much, but I’m excited to give them a go and see if I can do them all! Here they are:

My 2017 Monthly Challenges

January – No alcohol for a month

February – Pescatarian for a month (no meat except fish)

March – Word of the day (use a dictionary to find a word I didn’t know and use it in a sentence that day)

April – Home cooked meal every day (it’s easy to give in to temptation and get a ready made pasta meal / porridge sachet so I’m going to have at least one meal a day where everything has been made from scratch)

May – Take a photo every day

June – Run a mile every day (at least)

July – Save £2 a day (and then buy myself something pretty at the end of the month – handy as my birthday will be coming up!)

August – No bread for a month

September – Stretching every day

October – Watch a film a night

November – Puzzle a day (either a crossword, a sudoku or some other form of puzzle – have to complete one a day)

December – No chocolate for a month (this one might be my most difficult! I’m a massive chocoholic so challenging myself to this will be torture! Includes hot chocolate, chocolate flavour biscuits etc.)

My 2017 Goals

Here are a few little extra goals I want to hit this year:

  • Complete at least 5 running races (with 2 marathons)
  • Go somewhere new (abroad)
  • Explore more of the UK

    I love this challenge! It’s something different and gets you motivated in a different way. I wish you all the best with it lovely! Especially no chocolate in December, that might be the hardest with Christmas round the corner.

    Love these challenges! My partner and I are launching a Sports Platform this year – GoSweat – and as a PR stunt/for Charity are doing 365 Days of Sport! It would be great if we could do a session together!
